Huatulco's Best 5 Star Luxury Resorts and Hotels

Huatulco, pronounced 'Whah-tool-koh', is a resort area also known as the "Bahías de Huatulco" (the Bays of Huatulco), centered around the town of La Crucecita and the resort area of Santa Cruz.

Huatulco has nine bays with thirty-six beaches, many of which are pristine, undeveloped, and accessible only by boat. With the help of local guides and businesses, one can explore the beaches and bays in relative privacy or in groups.  Diving and snorkeling are popular in the area.

Hotel Quinta Real

Perched on one of the hills that plunge into the Tangolunda Cove, all lodgings at Quinta Real Huatulco are suites with partial or full ocean views.

A private beach is offered for guests to walk along the shore or take moonlit walks. Complimentary shuttle service is provided to the beach club where guests can enjoy many recreational activities such as water sports or scuba diving.

The hotel is adjacent to an 18-hole golf course.  Two restaurants are provided – including one gourmet facility.

Each of the 28 spacious guest rooms includes a private furnished balcony or terrace with ocean views and inlaid stone floors.

Rooms have cream-and-white decor, hardwood Mexican furnishings, slate tile floors, wood-beamed ceilings and regional artworks. Marble bathrooms offer slippers, bathrobes, and spa tubs and most have ocean views.

Hypoallergenic bedding is available, complimentary newspaper, a private bathroom, complimentary bottled water and air conditioning is available. Extra towels, linens and bedding are provided as desired.

Camino Real Zaashila

Camino real Zaashila blends the architectural charms of a Mediterranean village with Mexican artistic elements in its setting along scenic Tangolunda Bay. A championship 18-hole golf course is located three kilometers from this property.

Six on-site restaurants and bars include Chez Binni, an open-air, fine-dining establishment that prepares Mexican cuisine, seafood dishes and vegetarian selections. Tempting choices at Azul Profudo include seafood bisque with mezcal, and beef tenderloin with roquefort and chipotle-honey glaze. Beachfront bars offer late hours and scenic settings.

An outdoor pool is sculpted in a series of channel-linked open areas with a beach entry, built-in lounges and a garden island. One end of the pool houses an eight-person spa tub. Palapas along the beach offer shade and are used as shelters for hair-braiding and open-air massage. The resort's recreational amenities include an illuminated, artificial-grass tennis court. There are no water sports available on the beach, but an independent operator at the resort can arrange watercraft, scuba diving and fishing-boat rentals.

The Camino Real Zaashila offers 148 spacious guestrooms and suites in two- and three-story buildings. All rooms and suites feature furnished balconies that overlook Tangolunda Bay. Décor includes tan-marble floors and bathrooms, rose-marble vanities, wrought-iron dining sets, rattan reading chairs with footstools, ivory-toned furniture, brightly painted ceilings and pastel fabrics.

Barcelo Huatulco Beach Resort

The six-story resort offers 346 air-conditioned guestrooms with ocean, garden, or pool views. Contemporary décor features neutral color schemes with vibrantly hued fabric accents.

Five on-site restaurants and bars offer a variety of dining choices, among them Don Quijote that serves Italian cuisine, and La Tortuga that prepares casual fare and offers beach and poolside ambience. Bar Jorongo hosts lively musical entertainment and provides a dance floor.

This all-inclusive resort features two outdoor, palm-bordered pools, four lighted tennis courts, a putting green and a dive shop. On-site water sports include snorkeling, kayaking, sail boating, water aerobics and beach volleyball. Nightly shows are performed at the Oaxaca Theatre. The resort accommodates young guests, ages five through 12, by providing a playground, and supervised craft and beach activities at the resort's Club Barcy. Property amenities include an arcade room, laundry services and an on-site concierge.

Las Brises Huatulco

Las Brisas Huatulco is found at the Tangolunda Bay, with over 20 hectares of exuberant vegetation and four idyllic private beaches of golden sand. Dive in the natural wonders of the precious Bahias de Huatulco, the place that invites you to rest and make your vacation an unforgettable memory.

Within the exotic gardens, 482 magnificent rooms are distributed into four beautiful towns: mountains, stars, clouds and the exclusive sea section. In a minimalist style, these rooms emphasize the impressive sea view and the variety of vegetation as the best decorative picture.

The resort has a dominant Mexican contemporary style that was created by Richard Legorreta. A well-trained and efficient staff is on-site to assist with any needs you might require. The hotel is just minutes away from dining, shopping and entertainment venues.
